Australia's authorities have ended the operation for a young boy who has been missing in the outback for nearly twenty-one days, after renewed efforts proved unsuccessful to locate any traces of the child.

Gus Lamont was observed playing near his family property on a isolated farmland in the vicinity of Yunta, about a significant distance from Adelaide, on 27 September.

His family member left him alone for about a short period before returning, only to realize the youngster gone, initiating one of the largest ground and aerial operations in South Australian records.

Latest Status

Authorities - who do not believe criminal activity - say they will carry on looking into, but that the situation has become a "search for recovery".
