FC Barcelona to Host Inaugural Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in domestic competition 30 months following their departure for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans are permitted inside under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Barça organized an open training session inside the stadium in early November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio OlĂmpic LluĂs Companys.
